Head: Sinusitis

What are sinuses?

Your sinuses are four paired spaces in your head, normally filled with air. Narrow passages connect them.

Sinuses make mucus that drains out of the passages in your nose. This helps keep your nose clean and free of bacteria, allergens and other pathogens.
In case of bacterial or viral infection can cause irritation in those spaces causing them to get blocked and filled with fluid. This can cause pressure and pain in your face, nasal congestion and other symptoms.

There are many types of sinusitis (acute, subacute, chronic or recurrent) and what’s causing it (bacteria, virus or fungus). You can prevent it to come back also with osteopathic treatment as we use several cranial techniques and we go after body biomechanics and neurology which are very powerful tools to treat this condition.
